Engineering is a most intended after career in India, which probably has a wider choice of specializations than any other profession. In India Many types of Engineering Institution runs by various bodies.They are State Government, Central and Private Aided Administering Organization.
Among all the Engineering Institutes, the Indian institutes of technology (IITs) are the reputed and internationally well-known Institutes in India, spread across the country in seven different places to cater Engineering education to Indians as well as to international students. Admission to the various Engineering courses in the different Institutes in India is done through Entrance tests. Thousands of aspirants take these exams every year. The two main Engineering Entrance Tests conducted every year in India for the undergraduate Engineering admission offered through different Institutes are:
- IIT-JEE (Indian Institute of Technology - Joint Entrance Exam)
- AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam)
IIT-JEE is a joint entrance exam for admission to IITs (Chennai, Guwahati, New Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee and Mumbai) and other premier institutions.
Apart from these two All-India level exams, many other state level entrance exams are conducted in India in both Undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
