GATE 2013 Entrance Test 

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology.  GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. 

The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programmes (eg. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies.  The score may also be used by Public sector units for employment screening purposes.

ICET 2012 Eligibility


  • The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date.
  • The candidates other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.
  • The candidates seeking admission :
    1. For MBA: Should have passed recognized Bachelors Degree Examination of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Condition

1.Educational Qualification (as on 01.12.2011)
i) Minimum 12th Standard (10 + 2) pass or equivalent qualification with a minimum of
aggregate 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS).
OR
ii) A degree (Graduation level) from a recognised university

i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost.
ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the minimum
stipulated eligibility criteria for the candidate. (11th  Standard or below).
iii) The scribe can be from any academic discipline.
iv) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking in the
prescribed format with passport size photograph of scribe, and confirm that the
scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above.
Further, in case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid-down criteria
or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled,
irrespective of the result of the written test.
v) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for
every hour of the examination.

2. Age: (As on 01.12.2011)
i. Minimum Age : 18 years ; Maximum Age : 28 years (as on 01.12.2011). Candidates
born between 30.11.1983 & 01.12.1993 are only eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

All eligible candidates should apply on-line before the last date for registration of
application.
a. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and
interview taken together. 
b. The written test will be of Objective type consisting of 
(i) General Awareness
(ii) General English 
(iii) Quantitative Aptitude 
(iv) Reasoning Ability 
(v) Marketing
Aptitude / Computer Knowledge. The questions in objective tests, except for the test
of General English, will be printed bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.
There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th
marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in
each of the objective tests.
The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the
performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum
required level. Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks
on aggregate  (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
for being considered for interview. Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be
decided by the bank.
c. Candidates qualified in the written test for recruitment in clerical cadre in the bank
and opted for appointment as stenographer will be called for skill test in stenography.
The candidate will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed
of 100 w.p.m. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer in 40 minutes in
case of English Stenography and in 55 minutes in case of Hindi Stenography. Visually
impaired candidates will be required to transcribe the matter in 70 minutes for
English Shorthand Test and in 95 minutes for Hindi Shorthand Test. Candidate should
score minimum 50% marks to be qualified.
Candidates will be required to appear for the skill test at the venue identified by the
Bank. The venue for skill test will be advised to the candidates in due course

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/citizenship:
A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India; or (ii) a subject of Nepal; or (iii) subject of Bhutan; or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificates has been issued to him by the govt of India 

Relaxation in upper age limit:
1. Minimum 20 Years Maximum 30 Years as on (01.07.2011)

2. SC/ST 5 years; OBC 3 years; In the case of Ex- service commissioned Officers, including ECOs/SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment 5 years; Persons domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 5 years; Officers serving in the Regional Rural Banks and who have put in a minimum of 5 years of service 5 years; PwD category 10 years; The children/family members of those who died in 1984 riots 5 years

Educational Qualification
I. Degrees obtained from the recognised Universities/Institutes recognised by the Govt. of India only will be considered.

II. The Educational Qualifications prescribed for the post are the minimum requirements for eligibility.

III. Candidates must specifically indicate the class / division and percentage of marks obtained calculated to the nearest two decimals in the relevant column of the application. Where no percentage of marks is awarded by the University, but only CGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage, besides indicating the CGPA/OGPA in the application. 
IV. The result of the qualifying examination, i.e. graduation or equivalent to graduation, as the case may be, should have been announced by the University on or before 01.07.2011.

Candidates should have obtained the Minimum Total Weighted Standard Score in the Common Written Examination conducted for Probationary Officers / Management Trainees in 2011-12. Candidates should be able to produce the original Score card in support of the scores mentioned in the On-Line application form, if called for further selection processes such as Group Discussion and / or interview.

V. Candidates should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria & other norms including being in possession of documents specified in this notification before applying for the post.

Selection Procedure:

a) Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS : 
Candidates should have appeared at Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS in September, 2011 or subsequently and should have obtained the minimum category-wise cut-off in the Total Weighted Standard Score (TWS Score) as stipulated by the Bank to become eligible and are in possession of Valid Score Card.
b) Group Discussion and Interview OR Interview only to be conducted by the Bank : 
Depending upon the number of category-wise vacancies, only a certain number of eligible applicants in the descending order of Total Weighted Standard Score (TWS Score) in the Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS, Mumbai in respective category will be called for Group Discussion and Interview or only interview at the discretion of the Bank.
Final selection : 
Only those candidates who have secured the stipulated minimum TWS score in the CWE and also the minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be considered for final selection. Final Merit List will be prepared in respect of eligible candidates comprising all categories by adding the total weighted standard score (TWS Score) obtained by them in the Common Written Examination (CWE) and Interview and the same will be strictly in descending order of merit. In case two or more candidates secure same aggregate marks, they will be ranked on the basis of their seniority in age.

Eligibility :
1. MBA: A pass in any Degree with 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern or a pass in any Degree with 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern.
2. Application Form is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application form. The candidates have to pay a demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for Tamil Nadu SC / ST Candidates on production of a copy of Community Certificate) drawn in favour of “The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University Chennai,” payable at Chennai, obtained from any Nationalized Bank drawn on or after 06-02-2013, should be submitted along with the filled-in application  for any one of the Programmes either (1) M.B.A. or (2) M.C.A. or (3) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.
If, the candidate desires to attend more than one Entrance Test, for every additional programme, he / she has to enclose an additional Demand Draft for Rs.500/- for general (Rs.250/- for Tamil Nadu SC / ST Candidates) along with the filled in application form.

1) Spot Registration: Hall tickets will be issued to the candidates who come in person to the following co-coordinating centres with a copy of 10th std. and 12th std mark sheet (or 3 years Diploma Certificate) and cash or demand draft.

2) By Internet Registration : The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tancet2013.

1. RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT :
  1. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years. 
  2. Other Backward Classes candidates by 3 years. 
  3. PWD category candidates - 10 years in addition to their respective category i.e. (a) by total 15 years for SC/ST Category (b) by total 13 years for OBC category and (c) by total 10 years for General Category. 
  4. In the case of ex-servicemen and commissioned officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs) / Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment, by 5 years subject to ceiling as per Government guidelines. 
  5. All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989, by 5 years. 
  6. The relaxation in upper age limit is as per Govt. guidelines In respect of Post Code No. 10 & 11, relaxation of Age to existing Bank of India employees by 5 years and 3 years respectively, on cumulative basis.



2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP:

 A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) as above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him.

3. APPLICATION FEE (NON-REFUNDABLE) : 


(a) For SC/ST/PWD/ Ex-Servicemen Candidates – Nil. 
(b) For all other candidates – Application Fees : Rs.500/- 
NOTE : Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will NOT be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.



4. HOW TO APPLY
(i) Candidate should have a valid e-mail id. 
(ii) The candidate should apply on-line through website www.bankofindia.co.in
(iii) As a First Step, candidate should take out Print-out of Challan from Page 15 of the Notice on our website (This will not be applicable for SC / ST/PWD /EX-SERVICE MAN Candidates). 
(iv) Against the above-said Challan, the candidate should make the payment of fees in any of the Bank of India branches on or before 16.01.2012. 
 (v) Once the payment of fees is made, the concerned branch will give him a Transaction No. 
(vi) Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his photograph and signature as per the specifications given on the website. 
(vii) Candidates should first scan their photograph and Signature, ensuring that both the 

photograph and signature are within the required specifications. If the size of the file is more than the specified limit then adjust the settings of the scanner.

(viii) Candidates are now ready to Apply Online by re-visiting the Bank’s website and going to the sublink to open up the appropriate Online Application Format. 
(ix) Candidate should visit again our website www.bankofindia.co.in under the caption “Recruitments / Career” and should fill up the application available by clicking on Page No.15 of the Notice on our website. 
(x) Transaction No. should be correctly filled in the application at appropriate place (This is not applicable for SC / ST /PWD /EX-SERVICEMEN Candidates). 
(xi) Application should be checked and after verification be submitted by clicking to submit button.
(xii) Application should be printed with photo and signature, to be kept ready for submission at the time of interview at the Interview Venue.
(xiii) You should note / remember your Registration No. and Password for future reference and use.
(xiv) Please note that the above procedure is the only procedure for applying. Physical mode of application or incomplete application would not be accepted and if submitted such application would be rejected outright.
(xv) There is a provision to modify the submitted On Line Application. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct their details in the On Line Application, if any. This modification facility will be available upto 18.01.2012. After this date, no modification will be permitted. Candidate should take utmost care while filling in the On-Line Application.
